This book is about a brave woman who finds herself being persecuted in her home country of Austria, she is jewish and in the 1930's she finds herself being cast out of Law school, her home and fleeing for her life. She has great friends who risk their lives to help her recieve papers and a new identity concealing that she is jewish. She ends up in Germany, and tells her story about living in constant fear, that someone will discover who she really is and that her husband ( a Nazi) will tell her story. If you know me than you know since I was a little girl I have read literally hundreds of books about the Holocaust and WWII. I liked Edith's story because as you read, you too are in constant fear the next knock at her door will be a group of Nazi's or the gestapo to take her away. I recommend this book to all.
